The ongoing dispute involving Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal took a fresh turn after her sister, advocate Rimsha Iqbal, alleged that unidentified individuals had been sent to their family residences and that threats were being made against them on the ongoing legal battle.
Speaking to the media outside the Punjab Bar Council, Rimsha alleged that a suspicious vehicle carrying unidentified individuals was sent to Momina Iqbal's in-laws' residence. According to her, the vehicle left the area after security personnel provided by the government became alert.
Rimsha further claimed that unknown individuals were also sent near her own residence during the night and alleged that she and her family were being subjected to intimidation and threats. She said an application regarding the matter had already been submitted to Chuhng Police Station.
She also maintained that false and baseless allegations had been made against both her and Momina Iqbal, adding that what she described as false complaints were being filed at various forums.
Despite the situation, Rimsha vowed to continue pursuing her sister's legal cases and said she would face the challenges with courage.
Meanwhile, Saqib Chadhar and his lawyer, Mian Ali Ashfaq, appeared before the Punjab Bar Council as disciplinary proceedings related to the case moved forward.
During the hearing, Chadhar stated that comments made by his lawyer outside the NCCIA office had been issued on his instructions.
The disciplinary committee questioned the appropriateness of public statements made about the case, including remarks regarding the alleged relationship between the parties and the use of the term "honey trap."
Committee members also raised concerns about discussing unverified claims in the media before they are examined through legal proceedings. The hearing focused on the limits of what lawyers can publicly disclose while representing clients in sensitive and ongoing cases.
