A massive fire suddenly broke out in a trailer which was loaded with cotton and destroyed it completely. The fire immediately engulfed the area and two more tankers which were loaded with oil also caught fire and reduced it to ashes on National Highway in Mityari, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
Due to fire incident traffic on both sides of National Highway was halted. After receiving the report, Rescue 1122 personnel reached the site and brought the fire under control. The fire caused millions of rupees loss.
Rescue 1122 personnel stated that the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and investigations are ongoing. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.
Earlier, in January 2025, transporters staged a large protest on a busy National Highway, following a string of vehicle fires that had raised serious safety concerns. The protestors, who were members of various transport unions, gathered to demand immediate action from authorities to address the rising incidents of vehicle burnings that have disrupted the flow of goods and posed risks to drivers.
