Punjab increases limit of kidney transplant card to Rs1 million, says CM Maryam

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said the annual treatment limit for kidney dialysis patients with the transplant card has been increased to Rs1 million, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday. 

In a special message on World Kidney Day Maryam Nawaz said thousands of patients are benefiting from the Punjab government's kidney transplant programme. 

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said free treatment facilities are being provided to kidney patients across Punjab. 

Transplant card has been provided for the authentic treatment of complex kidney diseases, Maryam Nawaz said.

Chief Minister also appreciated the hard work and dedication of doctors, nurses and other medical staff engaged in the treatment of kidney diseases.

Dialysis services in government hospitals have been improved with the cooperation of the private sector and modern machinery is being provided, Maryam Nawaz said.

Maryam Nawas said a free dialysis program has been started to free kidney patients from the financial burden. 

Maryam Nawaz said that more than 850 million people worldwide are suffering from kidney disease, which is a cause for concern. 

Maryam Nawaz appreciated the spirit of all kidney donors and paid them tribute. 

She said clean water, exercise, healthy diet can control kidney disease. 

Kidney Day provides awareness about a healthy lifestyle, a balanced diet, and regular kidney check-ups, Maryam Nawaz said.

She said Kidney Day awareness campaign provides information about the treatment of kidney failure and other complications. 

Maryam Nawaz said it is very important to take care of kidney health for a full and healthy life.
