In the aftermath of Indian missile attacks on Pakistani airbases, air traffic across multiple airports in Pakistan has been severely disrupted, with several flights delayed or diverted due to airspace security concerns.
According to aviation sources, the flight schedule at Islamabad International Airport was notably affected following the recent attack near Rawalpindi. Both Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and AirBlue faced significant delays, with flights failing to depart on time even after check-in had been completed.
At present, no aircraft are airborne within Islamabad’s airspace, officials confirmed, citing elevated threat levels and heightened military readiness.
The impact extended beyond the capital, with arrivals and departures at Lahore and Sialkot airports also disrupted. Two international private airline flights bound for Lahore and Sialkot were diverted to Quetta, as a precautionary measure.
Aviation authorities are closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with defense agencies to ensure passenger safety, while travelers have been advised to stay in contact with airlines for real-time updates on flight statuses.
