Pakistan’s Interior and Narcotics Control Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a meeting in Dhaka with Bangladesh’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid Islam, during which the Bangladeshi side praised Pakistan’s conciliatory role in efforts to resolve tensions between Iran and the United States.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel report, the meeting focused on bilateral relations, the regional situation and Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the region.
Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in trade, business and cultural exchanges as part of broader efforts to strengthen ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The two delegations also agreed to increase the exchange of official and cultural delegations to promote closer economic and people-to-people relations.
Discussions were also held regarding a possible visit to Pakistan by Bangladesh’s foreign minister in the near future.
During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan offered extensive opportunities for foreign investment and stressed the importance of stronger economic cooperation between the two countries.
Senior Bangladeshi officials attending the meeting included Foreign Ministry Secretary Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Director General South Asia Ishrat Jahan and Director Shamima Yasmin.
