PTCL customers likely to experience evening internet disruptions between May 11 and 18

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL) said the consumers may experience internet disruptions and slower connectivity due to maintenance work on one of its submarine cables from May 11 to May 18, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.

In a post on X, PTCL said the repair activity is being carried out by the International Cable Consortium to fix a fault in the submarine cable system.

The company said customers could face internet service degradation, particularly during evening hours, while the maintenance work remains underway.

The company added that the impact on internet services is expected to remain limited and temporary during the maintenance period.

The state-owned telecom giant manages three undersea optical fibre cable networks for Pakistan that provide international internet connectivity.

 Internet users in Pakistan often face disruptions due to persistent submarine cable faults.
