A case has been registered after unknown assailants opened fire at the house of national fast bowler Naseem Shah in Lower Dir, police confirmed on Monday.
The District Police Officer (DPO) said the incident did not appear to be an act of terrorism.
Initial investigations suggested it might have been related to a land dispute or local rivalry. Evidence from the scene has been collected, and the investigation is ongoing from all angles, he added.
DPO assured Naseem Shah’s father that the perpetrators would be apprehended soon.
According to police, the bowler was not at home at the time of the firing, and fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
The case was filed under Naseem Shah’s father’s complaint, who told authorities that the family has no known enemies or disputes.
The assailants fled the scene immediately after the firing, and police are actively pursuing leads to bring them to justice.
