Enraged traders, who had blocked the Quetta-Chaman highway following a truck loaded with grapes was snatched by some armed men in Qila Abdullah, opened the road for traffic after the vehicle was recovered within an hour of it was taken away, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to the deputy commissioner Chaman, Habib Ahmad Bangalzai, soon after learning about the incident, the district administrations of both Qila Abdullah and Chaman put the Levies on high alert. “The Force managed to recover the truck; however, the armed men managed to flee from the spot,” he elaborated.
Later, the truck was handed over to the driver, who left for Islamabad.
The representatives of transport unions and traders have thanked the concerned officials and Levies personnel whose efforts led to the recovery of the truck.
