Jennifer Lopez had an unexpected stage partner during her concert in Kazakhstan, and it wasn’t a fellow singer.
The 56-year-old superstar was performing at Almaty’s Central Stadium on Sunday when a grasshopper landed on her neck mid-song. Despite the surprise, Lopez didn’t let the insect derail her show.
In a video shared on her Instagram, the Selena actress is seen flashing a slightly nervous smile as the critter makes its way up her plunging halter top. Instead of panicking, Lopez powered through the performance before casually swatting it away.
“It was tickling me!” she told the cheering crowd, earning applause for her composure. The clip was humorously captioned, “Plot twist: @JLo just started rehearsals for Kiss of the Cricket Woman… on stage… in real time.”
The incident comes just days after Lopez reportedly faced an awkward moment in Istanbul, where security at a Chanel store allegedly refused her entry after failing to recognize her.
Lopez’s Kazakhstan show was part of her 21-date Up All Night: Live in 2025 world tour, which is set to wrap up Tuesday at Italy’s luxurious Hotel Cala di Volpe in Sardinia. From there, she will head to Las Vegas to begin a 12-date residency at Caesars Palace’s The Colosseum starting December 30.
This marks a busy return to the stage for the two-time Grammy nominee, who last year canceled her 30-date This Is Me… Live: The Greatest Hits tour, citing the need to spend time with her family. At the time, she was also facing online criticism over her self-funded projects, including an album, film, and documentary tied to her This Is Me… Now era.
Beyond music, Lopez has been active in film, recently starring in Netflix’s Office Romance alongside Brett Goldstein and set to appear in Robert Zemeckis’ adaptation of The Last Mrs. Parrish. She will also take on three roles in the upcoming musical Kiss of the Spider Woman, hitting theatres October 10.
Offstage, Lopez finalised her divorce from Ben Affleck earlier this year. The pair are currently selling their $68 million Beverly Hills estate. She shares 17-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
