Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Tuesday expressed concern over the health of the PTI founder and said his party did not believe in doing politics over health issues.
Talking to the media, Afridi said PTI had shown sympathy even when former prime minister Nawaz Sharif faced health concerns, adding that political differences should not come in the way of humanitarian considerations.
“We are concerned about the founder’s health,” he said, referring to reports being carried by journalists about his condition.
Afridi also praised journalist Hamid Mir for what he described as taking a stand during his programme, saying others, including the judiciary, should also take a stand where necessary.
Turning to the political situation, the chief minister said people, particularly young supporters, would come out on Sept 27.
“I have seen the sparkle of revolution in the eyes of the youth,” Afridi said, claiming that no one would be able to stop them this time.
He said political and institutional actors would have to decide where they stood as the situation developed.
