Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar met European Parliament member Andre Dostal and discussed parliamentary cooperation, democratic values and human rights with him.
According to a statement, matters of mutual interest and issues related to law and justice were also discussed in the meeting. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen parliamentary relations and democratic institutions.
The law minister said that democratic institutions and the constitutional system are very important for Pakistan. He said the rule of law and protection of human rights were among the government’s priorities.
Tarar said that Pakistan attached a great importance to parliamentary relations with the European Union. He said positive and constructive relations between Pakistan and the European Union would continue.
