After the approval of President of Pakistan, Federal Constitutional Court has been temporarily shifted to the building of Federal Shariah Court at Constitution Avenue in Islamabad on Thursday, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel.
According to a notification issued by Ministry of Law after the approval of President House, the offices of Shahria Court has been shifted to Islamabad High Court building.
Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) is a newly established specialized court, created with the passage of the 27th Constitutional Amendment in 2025, is exclusively handling constitutional matters, relieving the Supreme Court, with its first Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan and judges recently sworn in, starting work under temporary arrangements at the Islamabad High Court.
The FCC focuses on interpreting the Constitution, adjudicating disputes, and hearing constitutional appeals, aiming to reduce the Supreme Court's backlog and enhance judicial efficiency, though its establishment has sparked debate over judicial restructuring.
