The federal government has issued a series of new appointments, transfers and tenure extensions for senior civil servants across multiple divisions, according to official notifications released by the Establishment Division.
The additional charge of Secretary of the Economic Affairs Division, currently held by Special Secretary Muhammad Hameer Karim, has been extended for another three months. The extension will be effective from December 10, 2025.
In another development, Muhammad Saeed, a Grade-21 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan who had been awaiting posting, has been made Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Establishment Division. His posting took effect on December 2, 2025.
The government has also approved the transfer of Muhammad Haroon-ur-Rafiq, a Grade-21 Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Division. He has been posted Additional Registrar in the Federal Constitutional Court on a two-year deputation.
Meanwhile, the additional charge of Rector, National School of Public Policy (NSPP), Lahore, previously assigned to Dr. Muhammad Jamil Afaqi, has been extended by another three months. Dr. Afaqi, who serves as Dean at the Pakistan Administrative Staff College, will have his extended charge counted from December 2, 2025.
Significant reshuffling has also occurred within the Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service. Sheikh Muhammad Nadeem Amjad, a Grade-20 officer serving as DG Audit Punjab, has been transferred and appointed as Chief Finance and Accounts Officer in the Maritime Affairs Division.
Additionally, Muhammad Kamran Rashid Mirza, also a Grade-20 officer of the service, has been moved from his position as Chief Finance and Accounts Officer in the Power Division and posted as Director General Audit, Petroleum and Natural Resources, Lahore.
The Establishment Division has also approved a three-year deputation for Bushra Sumbal, a Grade-19 officer of the Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service currently serving in the Pakistan Military Accounts Department. She has been transferred and posted as Deputy Secretary, Military Finance Wing, Rawalpindi.
In a separate notification, Abdullah Khan, who had been awaiting appointment, has been posted as Section Officer in the Ministry of Climate Change.
The Establishment Division has formally issued notifications for all the above orders.
