Pakistan and Chinese authorities are working in close liaison to ensure safety and wellbeing of stranded Pakistanis, especially the students in China.
Special Assistant to PM on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resources Development Zulfi Bukhari briefed Prime Minister Imran Khan during a special meeting held to discuss measures taken for safety of Pakistanis stranded in China.
Special Assistant to PM on Health Dr Zafar Mirza and Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood were also present on the occasion.
The prime minister enquired about condition of the Pakistanis, particularly the students stranded in Wuhan City, the epicenter of coronavirus.
The PM was briefed on the health condition of Pakistanis and constant contact with those in Wuhan city. The PM was informed that the ministry is contact with the families of stranded persons and they are being informed about their loved ones constantly.
Zulfi Bukhari said that the Chinese will soon overcome the epidemic successfully. He also shared with the PM details about measures taken by the Chinese government for safety of Pakistanis.
The PM directed foolproof measures for welfare of the stranded Pakistanis and their families must be kept informed of their condition without any lapse. Imran Khan directed that no effort should be spare for letting the stranded Pakistanis that they are not alone. “They should be realized that the government is worried for them and that they will never be left in the lurch.”
The prime minister expressed satisfaction over the steps taken by the ministry for tackling the situation.
NO CORONAVIRUS CASE IN COUNTRY
Dr Zafar Mirza briefed the prime minister about the measures taken across the country to cope with the situation against the backdrop of Coronavirus outbreak in China. The SAPM said that there is no Coronavirus case in country and the people should not heed the rumors.
