Certainly, a good development for the country’s aviation sector as the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has decided to conduct tests of the people aspiring to become pilots under the United Kingdom’s (UK) aviation system before issuing them licences, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Sources told 24News TV channel that the CAA would start conducting tests under the new system towards the end of March, 2022, and all arrangements in this regard were complete as the UK’s civil aviation body had shared with the CAA the plan in this regard.

The CAA DG will announce the resumption of pilots’ licence exams at 2:00 PM today during an online session.

It is reminded here that the CAA had been barred from conducting these tests in July 2020 following the disclosure that some pilots in Pakistan had fake licenses, and it was only after the audit conducted recently by the International Civil Aviation Organisation that the CAA has been allowed to resume these tests.

Sources also disclosed that in all close to 5, 000 applications had been submitted to the Authority since July 2020 for the seats of pilots, aircraft engineers and air traffic controllers.
