Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif said on Friday that the present government had even approached authorities in the UK to probe money laundering charges against him, but even there he stood vindicated, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking at the rostrum of an accountability court (AC) in Lahore where he had gone in connection with the hearing of a money laundering case against him, Shehbaz said that the government did all it could to prove him guilty, but not a single penny of corruption was proved.
“On the contrary, I saved Rs1, 000 billion of the people of Punjab when I was the provincial chief minister,” he claimed.

The government has decided to table a resolution in the National Assembly (NA) to muster MNAs’ support for showing the hearing of a money laundering case against Leader of the Opposition in the NA Shehbaz Sharif live, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
Members of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) believe that an ‘open and shut’ case against Shehbaz, who is also Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president, should be shown live on television channels so that the nation could get to know the truth.
24News has learnt that the government’s team has even started drafting the resolution.
