Lawyers have tortured to death a police officer at a local court in Lahore on Tuesday for conducting a raid to arrest a proclaimed offender they were defending, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to police, police party of Shadbagh police station raided to arrest a proclaimed offender present in court premises when lawyers attacked police officials and tortured them in order to save their client wanted by police.
As a result of lawyers’ torture on police officials assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Shahid incapacitated due to the torture and was taken to hospital but he succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital.
Police collected evidence and started searching for the accused.
Meanwhile, a sub-inspector fell from roof during raid in Batapur area of Lahore.
According to police sources, sub-inspector Hammad raided a drug dealer Iqbal's house.
Raiding team arrested drug dealer but his brother Inayat managed to escape.
Sub-inspector Hammad fell from roof while trying to catch accused Inayat and after falling from roof his arm fractured and was shifted to hospital. Police launch search operation to find accused Inayat.
