Nargis, who was considered the queen of the Punjabi stage drama until recently, has come forward with a shocking revelation about a former military ruler of Pakistan.

During a recent podcast interview, Nargis told the host that Pakistan's last military ruler Pervez Musharraf offered her Rs2.5 million for a performance at Governor's House, but she refused.

She said that she never went to private performances and only performed at the theatre.

After ruling the stage and the Punjabi film industry scene for several years, Nargis has now quit dancing and stage performances. She is focusing on charity work and problems facing the poor segments of society.

When asked about Maulana Tariq Jamil's role in her transformation from a stage actress to a devoted Muslim, Nargis said she performed her first Hajj with the religious scholar. She said she wanted to quit the stage when she returned from Hajj, but she told Maulana Tariq Jamil that she owed drama producers Rs30 million. She said Maulana Tariq Jamil offered to return that amount to her producers from his own pocket on the condition that she would not return to acting. She said Maulana Tariq Jamil told her that she should quit acting only when her inner self asks her to do so instead of any external pressure.
