Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) thwarted an attempt to smuggle 1.2 tons of fine quality hashish wroth $66.15 million in internarnational market and arrested two smugglers during an intelligence-based operation from Gwadar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to details, after receiving credible secret information, an ANF team intercepted suspicious vehicles on Panjgour and Turket at the National Highway and recovered the hashish, which was tactfully hidden in the secret parts of the truck.
During the initial investigation, the accused said that they smuggled the hashish from Afghanistan and were transporting hashish from Gwadar and Pasni through Panjgur and Turbat.
The smugglers' network was transporting these narcotics to Gulf countries, Yemen, and Tanzania.
The ANF team started interrogiation from the arrested smugglers. ANF adopted a zero-tolerance policy against the smuggling of narcotics.
