Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said on Wednesday there is no room for terrorist attacks in Islamabad, declaring that “blood will be avenged with blood” during his speech in the National Assembly.
Addressing the House, the defence minister strongly criticised a recent statement by Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai regarding the Pakistan Army, terming it “extremely irresponsible.” He said such remarks were unexpected from Achakzai and expressed personal hurt over the statement.
“This is the army of the country, not of any province,” Khawaja Asif said, stressing that the armed forces represent the entire nation.
He reiterated that terrorism would not be tolerated in the federal capital and vowed a firm response to any such acts.
