Three people sustained critical injuries when a balloon-filling cylinder exploded in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The incident occurred in Qasai Wali Gali near Koray Stop on Walton Road.
Upon receiving the alert, Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the scene and shifted the injured victims to General Hospital Lahore for treatment.
This incident follows a similar tragedy reported in November 2025, when a powerful gas cylinder explosion in Lahore’s Harbanspura area near Nadar Market caused a building collapse, resulting in the deaths of three people. Rescue officials had managed to pull seven injured individuals from the rubble, including six women, three of whom were in critical condition.
Sunday’s blast once again triggered panic in the locality as police and rescue teams arrived to investigate the cause of the explosion.
Authorities have initiated an inquiry to determine the factors leading to the blast and to prevent similar incidents in the future.
