Dense fogs forces closure of various sections of motorways

Dense fog continued to disrupt routine life across major cities of Pakistan, severely reducing visibility and forcing the closure of several motorway sections on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

According to spokesperson of Motorways police, the thick fog has badly affected the flow of road traffic in several cities. 

According to a Motorway spokesperson, Lahore-Sialkot Motorway M-11 closed from Kala Shah Kaku to Sambrial due to fog. Likewise, Motorway M-5 was closed from Rahim Yar Khan to Rohri in Sindh due to poor visibility. M3 and M4 motorways has also been closed at various sections.

Motorway Police urges travelers to travel from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The Motorway police have appealed the drivers to use Grand Trunk (GT) Road for travelling. They have also urged the drivers to drive slowly and switch on fog lights. The Motorway police have also requested the people to stay home and avoid unnecessary travelling. Dense fog has also disrupted traffic at several places in the province at the National Highway as visibility is from zero to 100 meters. The Motorway police have also informed that for assistance or guidance, motorists can contact the NHMP helpline at 130.
