Former Test cricketer Saeed Ajmal has called on the International Cricket Council (ICC) to make fair decisions in cricket, asserting that if India cannot be prevented from politicising the sport, the ICC should consider shutting down.
Speaking to the media at the launch of the second edition of the Pakistan Cricket Champions League (PCCL), Ajmal stressed that the ICC should uphold “fair and love cricket” in its rulings.
“Decisions should be made fairly, reflecting what Pakistan and other cricket boards want. Cricket cannot run according to the whims of a single country,” he said.
He further said that Pakistan has hosted teams from around the world, questioning why India refuses to tour Pakistan.
“The message to ICC is clear: cricket should be fair. If the world can come to Pakistan, what problem does India have?” he asked.
On national team spinner Usman Tariq, Ajmal said that while Tariq shows promise, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) must investigate why Pakistani players face action-related issues.
“The PCB should take steps to protect our players and ensure they are not unfairly targeted,” he added.
