After the federal government, the Sindh government has also announced public holidays in the province on the 9th and 10th of Muharram (July 16 and 17) on account of Ashura, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A notification issued by Cabinet Division said, “The Prime Minister is pleased to declare 16th and 17th July, 2024 (Tuesday and Wednesday) as public holidays on the occasion of Ashura (9th & 10th Moharram 1446 AH).”
Meanwhile, Sindh Department of Services, General Administration and Co-ordination has issued a notification that July 16 and July 17 will be public holidays on account of Ashura. The notification said all government and semi-government institutions will remain closed across Sindh.
Meanwhile, State Bank of Pakistan has also announced bank holidays on 16th and 17th July, 2024 on the occasion of Ashura.
