Govt to rename Frontier Constabulary as Federal Constabulary to expand its role

The federal government has decided to expand the scope and role of Civil Armed Force Frontier Constabulary (FC) to the entire country as earlier FC was limited to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa only, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. 

The federal cabinet has approved amendments to the Frontier Constabulary Act 1915 resultantly the name of the Frontier Constabulary has been changed to the Federal Constabulary. 

The F-CON force has 561 platoons, which were recruited only from Pakhtun tribes. The President will approve the Federal Constabulary Amendment Ordinance 2025. After the ordinance, the Federal Constabulary will also be deployed in all four provinces, Islamabad, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The Federal Constabulary will be recruited from all provinces and will be commanded by police service officers.
