Fifteen students of a madrassah became unconscious mysteriously in Shikarpur on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The incident took place near Town Chak in Madrassah Hizbul Ibrar. A wave of panic gripped the area after the incident.
Police said that the residents and management of the madrassah immediately shifted all the students to a nearby hospital.
Later, all the students were shifted to a private hospital in Sukkur due to non-availability of required medical facilities in Town Chak Hospital.
The management of the madrassah said that all the students drank water after having a meal, and then fell unconscious one by one. They expressed the fear that, due to the presence of toxic substances in the water tank, the water would have become toxic.
But no official statement was issued in this regard. The police, after obtaining the samples of water, started an investigation. All the relevant department also investigating the matter from all angles.
Police said that the real cause behind the incident will be detected after receiving of final report.
