CM Maryam says 41,000 acres barren land transformed into green forests across Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has expressed gratitude over the success of the plantation drive as government has transformed more than 41,000 acres of barren land into green forests under an afforestation campaign, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

Chief Minister Maryam claimed that over 40 million trees planted in 3,085 plantation rows across the province.

She said the history of Punjab has never witnessed such a green revolution. This is only the beginning. In the coming years, Punjab will be recognized as a province of forests, clean air, and thriving rivers.

Large-scale plantation efforts have been carried out across multiple regions of province including Bahawalpur to Dera Ghazi Khan, Murree to Muzaffargarh, Chichawatni to Faisalabad the environment has become green.

CM Maryam Nawaz also that the use of cutting-edge technology was helped for the protection of forest resources. She said that Geographic Information System (GIS) Lab is also conducting aerial monitoring of trees to ensure their protection.
