The federal government has once again enhanced the petroleum levy by Rs9.64 per litre, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Now the total levy on petrol has reached Rs80 per litre; before this, the levy on petrol was fixed at Rs70.36 per litre.
Earlier on July 10, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also been increased by Rs13.80 per litre, taking its new price to Rs323.30 per litre.
According to a notification, the price of petrol has been raised by Rs13.18 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs310.71 per litre.
