Federal govt releases Rs5.9b funds for four mega projects in AJK

Federal government has decided to release Rs 5.9 billion funds for four mega projects in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

The formal approval for the release of funds was given under the Finance Division’s directive dated June 2, 2025. The Ministry of Finance directs State Bank of Pakistan to release funds for Azad Kashmir government. 

Rs 1.47 billion allocated for the construction of Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly Complex, Rs 3 billion approved for construction of Rathua Haryam Bridge. Moreover, the central government has given approval to release Rs 427.5 million for Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq Shaheed Medical College Muzaffarabad.

The Ministry of Finance said the approved funds are not related to cash payments, they will be transferred under adjustments in the budget.
