Gabriella Bardsley, 23, broke down in tears as she pleaded guilty to drink-driving after being found more than three times over the legal alcohol limit, The Sun reports.
The social media influencer and daughter of Real Housewives of Cheshire star Tanya Bardsley was arrested on May 11 after attempting to drive through a police roadblock at the scene of a traffic collision in Wilmslow.
Her stepfather is former Manchester United and Sunderland footballer Phil Bardsley.
Crewe Magistrates' Court heard that officers spotted Gabriella in her Audi A3 approaching the blocked-off area.
Prosecutor Charlie Hayward told the court she appeared ‘visibly intoxicated,’ slurred her words, and struggled to stay on her feet. She initially refused a roadside breathalyser test and was taken to a police station, where she recorded 122 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath – well above the legal limit of 35.
Wearing a black jacket and white trousers, Gabriella stood in the dock and pleaded guilty to the drink-driving charge. Her lawyer, Gary Hughes, noted she had been of “hitherto good character.”
Despite this, magistrates issued an interim driving ban, and the influencer was seen sobbing as she left the courtroom, comforted by her stepfather.
Gabriella is a regular on the ITVX reality series The Bardsley Bunch, which features her celebrity family, including younger brothers Rocco, Renz, and Ralphi. She now faces sentencing on the July 14 incident and could be fined an unlimited amount and disqualified from driving.
Phil Bardsley, who supported her in court, began his football career at Manchester United and later played for Sunderland and the Scottish national team before retiring in 2023.
