Sherakot Police arrested three alleged drug peddlers during separate operations in Lahore and recovered more than 2 kilograms of hashish and over half a kilogram of opium from their possession, police said on Thursday.
According to SP Iqbal Town Sidra Khan, the suspects were identified as Naveed, Allah Ditta alias Bala and Zohaib Pathan.
Police said Naveed and Allah Ditta alias Bala were arrested near Do Moria Pul, while Zohaib Pathan was apprehended in the Niazi Adda area.
The suspects were allegedly involved in supplying and selling narcotics in different parts of Lahore, the SP said.
During the operations, police recovered more than 2kg of hashish and over 500 grams of opium from the accused.
Cases have been registered against all three suspects under relevant provisions of the law, according to police.
SP Sidra Khan said the accused had been handed over to the investigation wing for further interrogation and efforts were underway to identify their network and possible accomplices.
Police said the crackdown against drug trafficking would continue in line with efforts to curb the sale and distribution of narcotics in the provincial capital.
