Three people of the same family, including a woman, her husband, and their child, lost their lives when lightning struck their house in Shangla, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The incident took place in the Lavlani area of Shangla. Soon after the incident, residents of the area retrieved the dead bodies under the debris. The dead man was identified as Yar Mohammad.
A wave of sorrow and panic gripped the area over the sudden and sad demise of all the members of one family.
Rain continues in Shangla, Buner, and Swat areas after gaps.
Earlier in July 2025, at least six people lost their lives in separate incidents caused by heavy rains and lightning strikes across various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to a report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Monday, the incidents occurred in the districts of Bajaur, Kohat, Malakand, and Khyber.
Among the deceased are one man, one woman, and four children. Additionally, three houses sustained partial damage due to the severe weather.
PDMA has directed the respective district administrations to provide immediate relief to the affected families and ensure the best possible medical care for the injured.
