The appointment of a vice-chancellor (VC) at Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad has not been made as yet due to which the university’s administrative matters have been affected, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Awarding of degrees to students, their scholarships, allotment of hostel rooms to them have all been put on hold.
The situation forced the students to hold a demonstration outside the university’s gate on Wednesday.
They demanded the Ministry of Education to immediately appoint the VC.
On the other hand, the ministry officials said that the summary for the appointment of a new VC had been sent to the Prime Minister’s Office.
The seat of a vice-chancellor has been lying vacant since the appointment of Dr. Niaz Akhtar as the HEC chairman.
