The residents of Lahore faced a triple onslaught of heat, pollution, and humidity on Sunday as the city sizzled under a temperature of 30°C, though it felt like 32°C, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a 40 to 80 percent chance of rain in the afternoon, which could bring some relief. The maximum temperature may rise to 37°C, while the minimum is expected to hover around 24°C.

Winds blew at a sluggish 5 km/h, failing to disperse the heavy smog. Lahore's air quality index (AQI) hit 179, making it the second most polluted city in Pakistan on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Karachi is also enduring intense heat and humidity. The current temperature stands at 31°C, but the heat index may cross 40°C as the day progresses.

“The weather is clear but extremely hot and humid,” the Meteorological Department said, cautioning citizens to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours.
