The thick clouds cover the sky as heavy rain was reported at Iqbal Towm, The Mall, Ferozepur road, Kalma Chowk, Model Town and Gulberg areas of the city which turned the weather pleasant and masses get respite from the scorching heat.
Earlier rain was also reported in Rawalpindi, Murree, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Noshera Virkan, Kamonki, Narowal. Many feeders of electrify were reported to be tripped during heavy winds.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Sunday issued a weather advisory, warning of heavy rain, windstorms, and hailstorms hit many areas of Punjab. According to details, rain with strong rain is predicted in Murree, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Narowal. The PDMA has issued an alert and asked all departments to stay ready.
PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia said an alert has been issued to the district administrations, police, civil defence, school education, health, irrigation, construction and communication, local government and livestock and information departments. Furthermore, he said that PDMA has asked people to avoid unnecessary travel and call the helpline 1129 in case of emergency.
