J10c has outperformed twin engine J11, more advanced J16 and Russian SU35 in exercises/wargames at home and abroad, Chinese experts claim.
Prestigious Military Watch magazine also rates J10c above F16V, the latest version of F16 with AESA radar, new engine and advanced avionics.
For now even the US doesn't have any answer to J10c's BVR missile PL15 with a range of 200-300km.
The latest US BVR AMRAM 120 D also lags behind with 160-180km range. However, the US is on the advanced stage of developing their ramjet based AIM 260 JATM with 200-250km range.
After induction in PAF, and during wargames at home and abroad, J10c and JF17 Block 3, both performed exceptionally against Rafale, Eurofighter Typhon, F16C, Mirage 2000, and even against heavyclass twin engine F15C-E .... all 4.5+ generation fighters with the exception of Mirage 2000, which is 4th generation.
It will be interesting to compare the capabilities and price tag .... matching in capabilities J10c and JF17 B3, both offer a price tag less than half with all their Western rivals, J10c in the medium weight category and JF17 B3 in the lighter class/weight.
The only negative with J10c being that it was not war tested, war proven .... that is why Pak-India air war theatre has sent shockwaves across the globe, specifically in the Western hemisphere including France and the US.
