International Mother's Day is being celebrated across Pakistan with the aim to develop feelings of respect and love for the mothers and pay tribute to them, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi In his heartfelt message on International Mother’s Day called a mother the greatest blessing in the world, saying her love transcends time and death.
Mohsin Naqvi said, “The love of a mother cannot be confined to a single day. It is a bond that begins from the lap and extends to the Day of Resurrection.”
He described “mother” as the most beloved and sweetest word, adding that love, sincerity, and compassion are all epitomised in a mother, whose relationship is irreplaceable and full of genuine emotions.
“Even the world’s most luxurious bed cannot match the beauty of moments spent in a mother’s lap,” he said emotionally.
He attributed his success and current position to his late mother’s prayers, saying,
“By Allah Almighty’s mercy, it is only through my mother’s prayers that I have reached this place.”
Naqvi added that he is sure his mother’s prayers continue to accompany him, and he paid tribute to all mothers, especially the mothers of martyrs.
“I salute the greatness of mothers and pray from the depth of my heart that Allah keeps all mothers safe.”
Naqvi reviews progress on Jinnah Square underpass project
Later in the day, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass project to inspect the ongoing development work.
CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa briefed the minister, informing him that the side walls have been completed and roofing has begun. He said the underpass is scheduled to be inaugurated on May 22.
Mohsin Naqvi directed authorities to complete the project 100 percent, expressing satisfaction over the pace and quality of work despite recent rains.
He also ordered the development of green areas and quality landscaping around the project, inspected a nearby under-construction bridge, and ordered swift action against encroachments along the expressway.
“Making Islamabad a world-class city in terms of traffic and facilities is a top priority,” Naqvi emphasised.
