Pakistani High Commissioner (PHC) to the United Kingdom (UK) Dr Mohammad Faisal has said that the establishment of sustainable peace in South Asia is conditional on a just solution to the Kashmir issue, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Talking to the British Broadcasting Corporation, Dr Mohammad Faisal said the Kashmir issue should be resolved in accordance with the UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The PHC clarified that India is not only rejecting the UN resolutions on the Kashmir issue; it also does not recognise the Indus Waters Treaty.
The Pakistani High Commissioner to the UK termed the ceasefire between Pakistan and India a positive development between two nuclear powers.
Dr Mohammad Faisal said it remains to be seen where the talks go in the coming days. He said Pakistan wants peace in the region, so India will have to give up its stubbornness.
