Pakistan has expressed gratitude to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for welcoming the ceasefire between Pakistan and India.
Foreign Office spokesman in his statement said that Pakistan lauds UN Secretary-General's assessment that ceasefire represents a positive step towards lasting peace and stability in South Asia.
Foreign Office spokesperson further said Pakistan appreciates the UN chief’s support and sees the ceasefire agreement as a constructive move. He emphasized that peace in the region is tied to the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. In this context, Pakistani has strong support for resolving the Kashmir issue peacefully through dialogue under the UN framework.
In the end, spokesperson state that Pakistan remains dedicated to contributing to peace, stability, and development for the people of South Asia through meaningful engagement and cooperation.
