A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the Islamabad High Court’s decision regarding medical treatment and hospital transfer for former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.
The petition was submitted by Imran Khan’s sister, Uzma Khan, seeking the annulment of the Islamabad High Court’s order and requesting directives for the PTI founder’s transfer to a hospital for medical treatment.
According to the petition, the Islamabad High Court’s decision should be declared “null and void,” arguing that the court failed to properly consider the facts presented in the case.
The petitioner further requested the apex court to issue orders allowing Imran Khan access to his personal doctors for medical examination and treatment.
In the petition, it was stated that the Islamabad High Court opted to order the formation of a medical board instead of ensuring immediate treatment facilities and hospital transfer for the PTI founder.
The plea maintained that the high court did not take into account the alleged non-implementation of previous court orders before issuing its latest decision.
Uzma Khan also argued that although she was not formally a party to the proceedings before the Islamabad High Court, she remained an “affected party” due to her relationship with the former premier and concerns regarding his health and medical care.
The Supreme Court is expected to take up the petition for preliminary hearing in the coming days.
