Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi says twelve people were martyred and twenty-seven others were injured in a suicide blast outside Islamabad Courts in G-11 Sector today. Talking to media persons at Islamabad Courts today, he said the suicide bomber was present outside the court for a few minutes and tried to enter but remained unsuccessful due to foolproof security after which he targeted the police vehicle. The Interior Minister said our first priority is to identify the bomber. He said our security forces are fully committed to complete this task at the earliest.
Mohsin Naqvi said the martyred and injured of the incident have been shifted to PIMS and efforts are underway to identify them as well.
He said the Prime Minister has directed to provide best medical care to the injured. Talking about the yesterday's incident in Wana, he said the vehicle-borne suicide attacker carried out the blast at the entry point of Cadet College. He said our security forces saved over five hundred students and faculty members from becoming hostages. He said the clearance of the area is still continuing which would be completed soon.
The Interior Minister said the attacker in Wana has been identified as Afghan national. He said Afghanistan is found directly involved in the incident due to the communication of perpetrators that was carried out with people in Afghanistan.
He appealed to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to stand united with the security forces in these testing times. He said Pakistan should be first in all circumstances.
Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan has called upon Afghanistan several times to stop cross border terrorism. He said Pakistan has provided complete proof of the attacks and perpetrators as well, but Afghan authorities have not taken any measures. He said Pakistan is justified to take appropriate measures and stop the attacks in every way possible.
Replying to a question, Mohsin Naqvi said today's incident sends several messages as it has been carried out at a crucial moment when several activities are going on in the capital.
He said the measures would soon be put in place after which no vehicle without E-tag would be allowed entry in Islamabad.
