Investigation agencies in the federal capital have prepared a preliminary report on the recent suicide attack, according to official sources familiar with the matter.
The initial findings reveal that the attacker was a resident of Bajaur district. The report states that the suicide bomber arrived in Islamabad on Friday and later travelled from Pirwadhai to the G-11 district courts on a motorcycle.
Investigators have identified the motorcycle used in the attack as bearing registration number BCB-2564. According to the report, the assailant was disguised in a shawl to conceal his movement and identity.
Authorities are now expanding their investigation to trace the network that facilitated the attacker’s entry into the capital and his movement on the day of the incident.
Security agencies have intensified intelligence operations in multiple areas to locate potential accomplices and prevent further attempts.
Officials said that a detailed report will be submitted once forensic analyses and background checks are completed.
At least 12 people were killed and 36 wounded in a suicide blast outside the district and sessions court building in Islamabad.
The incident occurred as international events were being hosted in the capital, including the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference and the 6th Margalla Dialogue, while a cricket match between the Green Shirts and Sri Lanka was also being held in Rawalpindi.
