The Punjab Bar Council (PBC) on Tuesday announced a complete strike in all courts across the province on November 12 to mourn the victims of the devastating blast at the Islamabad District Courts.
According to a statement issued by the Secretary of the Punjab Bar Council, lawyers across Punjab will not appear in courts tomorrow as a mark of mourning and solidarity with the victims and their families.
The Council expressed deep grief and anger over the tragic attack, which claimed several lives, including that of Advocate Chaudhry Zubair Aslam Mohsin. Vice Chairman of the Punjab Bar Council strongly condemned the act of terrorism, calling it an assault on justice and the rule of law.
The PBC has demanded a transparent investigation into the incident and urged the government to ensure exemplary punishment for those responsible. The Council also emphasized the urgent need to strengthen security arrangements in courts across the country to protect legal professionals and citizens.
In addition, the Punjab Bar Council condemned the recent Wana Cadet College attack, expressing heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs and reaffirming that the legal community stands united against terrorism in all its forms.
The Council stated that the strike and expressions of solidarity demonstrate the lawyers’ firm resolve to uphold justice and resist those who seek to spread fear and violence.
