The Lahore High Court has ordered the chief secretary to submit a report on measures to smog tomorrow (Tuesday), 24News HD TV channel reported Monday
Hearing a case related to smog, the court ordered officers to act in accordance with the law and set aside political pressure.
All officers should act according to law ignoring political pressure, Justice Shahid Karim said and directed the department concerned to submit the report as per the court order.
The court expressed its displeasure over the report of the Environment Secretary closing down 1200 industries.
It court ordered the environment secretary to prepare a detailed report and submit it tomorrow.
If the chief secretary wants to do any work, he can do it in an hour, Justice Shahid Karim observed.
Earlier the court was informed about the measures adopted to overcome the challenge but the babus failed to satisfy the court.
The environment secretary said that there is political pressure on him. At which the LHC judge said they have to work as per the law setting aside the political pressure.
