The Punjab Disaster Management Authority has notified that Lahore city has been declared a disaster-hit area due to smog, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
According to the notification, all smog-causing activities have been banned across the province. Special teams will be formed to control smog and a crisis room will be established in the Punjab Disaster Management Authority while the industries emitting black smoke will be closed, it stated.
Schools will have to buy buses to reduce smoke emissions and the deputy commissioners will take all necessary measures to control smog while burning of crop residues will be completely banned.
Strict action will be taken against crop burning and strict action will be taken against polluting vehicles and industries while traffic flow will be ensured, strict action will be taken against encroachment and wrong parking people. smog advisory will be issued by the concerned departments.
