The Sindh government has decided to re-conduct the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2023, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

This decision was formally announced by the Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh, Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar, who has directed the Vice-Chancellor of Dow University to oversee the re-examination process.

This bold move comes in response to mounting concerns and controversies surrounding the initial test results.

A spokesperson for the Sindh government confirmed that the caretaker chief minister issued a formal directive to invalidate the test results.

Furthermore, the CM instructed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to launch an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the MDCAT 2023 results. He observed that date of re-organization of  MDCAT test will be announced soon. The inquiry's primary objective is to uncover any irregularities or discrepancies that may have compromised the integrity of the initial examination process.

Last month, the court restricted authorities from releasing the results of the MDCAT 2023.

Dozens of candidates were arrested on charges of cheating during the MDCAT 2023, which took place on September 10.

The staff recovered Bluetooth devices from the students during the test.
