The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong has said that Chinese President Xi Jinping has already stated that China will continue to support Pakistan and will stand by Pakistan in her journey for development.

The Chinese Ambassador was addressing the ‘Mid-Autumn Poetry evening’ organized under the theme “Mid-Autumn: A Memorable Occasion.” Addressing a large audience, the Ambassador said that during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to China, a joint 15-point action plan was approved, emphasizing the importance of people-to-people connections as well as continuation of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Jiang Zaidong added that President Asif Ali Zardari’s visit to China was significant as it brought Islamic culture and traditions closer to the great historic and simplified culture of the great Chinese civilization.

Earlier, highlighting the life and works of the great Chinese poet, writer, and philosopher “Su, Shi,” the Ambassador said that ‘Su, Shi’ holds a unique and distinguished status in great Chinese literature and poetry.

While addressing the occasion, Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi said, “May the Pak-China friendship always shine like the full moon.”

He noted that ‘the moon’ holds a special significance in Chinese culture, with beautiful festivals organized to celebrate it, while in Islamic tradition, months, days, and even Eid celebrations are determined by the lunar calendar. He added that the Chinese Embassy believes strongly in promoting people-to-people ties.

During the event, children presented delightful performances based on Chinese poetry, which were warmly appreciated by the audience.
