Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) President Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman on Saturday called two key figures in the Punjab government and the federal government and urged them to resolve all issues with the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) amicably.
24NewsHD TV quoted sources as saying that Fazal called Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Advisor to Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan and asked them to defuse the situation arising out of the TLP protests. He said the government should exercise restraint and the situation should not lead to a conflict.
On Fazal's request, the report said, the government has initiated talks with the TLP leadership.
