Renowned lawyer Raja Aftab Ahmed Khan has been elected as president of Azad Kashmir Suypreme Court Bar Association by obtaining 241 votes out of 482 votes, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
The runner up candidate Bilquis Rasheed could get only 177 votes. From Muzaffarabad seat, Raja Aftab Ahmed got 102 votes and Bilquis Rasheed obtained 80 votes. In Mirpur, Raja Aftab got 79 votes and runner up got 58 votes.
Raja Aftab Khan got 21 votes from Kotli, 11 from Palandri, 11 from Bagh and 17 from Rawalakot. The legal fraternity has congratulated Raja Aftab Khan on his brilliant victory in bar elections.
The total number of registered voters was 482, polling was completed in a peaceful atmosphere. A large number of lawyers were present during the counting of votes. After election, newly elected Bar President Raja Aftab Ahmed Advocate said that he would try his best for resolving the problems of lawyers.
