During intra-day trading, KSE index crossed the 157,000 mark but later market dropped. At the end of the market time, 100 Index closed at 156,141, down 879 points. The profit-taking by investors remained dominant during the trading day.
According to market experts, the news of the Asian Development Bank's $285 million guarantee for Panda Bonds and investment in the agriculture sector are positive for the market.
Experts say that the downturn is temporary, and that international investment and government measures continue to have the potential to improve the market.
